Yesterday while stuck in traffic, I wondered why all of us are in such a hurry that we literally just want to fly over everyone else, irrespective of the problems that our irresponsible behaviour might cause.
I was really angry at the man who went on honking, without realizing that there were thirty other cars ahead of me who were stuck in the same traffic jam!!
All of a sudden a big car stopped in front and a well dressed man came out and started lifting up an iron board that had fallen in the middle of the road.
As the board was really heavy he asked one of the other car drivers to help him, the reluctant car driver started unlocking his seat belt, when a man on a motor bike quickly got down and the willingly gave a hand!
Both the gentlemen lifted the board and secured it in such a way, so that it doesn't fall again....
Everyone around stopped honking.....a precious example was set for everyone else to follow.
Both men drove away after clearing the hurdle that was causing the jam!
It was a great deed indeed, for those who understand its importance, it was an example set for everyone else to follow.....instead of just honking, a little patience and good deed just made everyones day!
Wherever the two gentlemen are....I salute them for the great endeavour!!!

It's very rare now a days that people think of setting examples. Everyone is so busy, or say lazy to wait for someone else to initiate and do the job. Salute to those two guys.
Very good example from the daily life.
We seldom pause in our mad rush through living. "I m concerned about my being and myself. You do not matter to me". This is the mindset of many.
Its a sad state of the society we live and I fear for the generations to come while things will surely get worse.
One cannot really dismiss a section of men and women in Europe who where in their teens and youth in the period immediately after the World war II and the beginning of Cold war, as pessimists.Those men and women swore and decided not to bear or bring forth another generation into the world.As they feared that the way world was moving to Armageddon and certain end, it will be gross injustice to posterity .

People are in such a hurry to reach the destination, that they forget the journey at all.
Most of our problems are similar. We just need to take the initiative to put it right.

Last evening, when I was stuck at the signal for a while on my way back home from work, I was sort of wondering why people go on honking, when they can see very well that there are other vehicles waiting patiently for their turn, so why can they wait without annoying others!
I heard on FM yday, that there was a traffic jam for hours at an important junction (no traffic cop, signal not working) and two guys got off their motorbike to ease the traffic. In a few minutes problem was fixed and motorists went on their way.
True, there are very few among us who take the first step to sort out problems, the rest are just waiting to follow.

Your post is a reminder to all of us that there are still good,helpful,kind people in this world who will go to any extent to solve a problem like the one you have mentioned on the road or if there is an accident.
The mad rush you have mentioned is becoming quite common in most towns especially after the offices get over or before the starting time. It is always better to avoid such times when there is heavy traffic on the road.
In Kochi traffic bottle necks are created mostly by drivers themselves who never follow traffic rules and overtake one another without any patience.
The man blowing his horn behind you must have surely got on your nerves but such unruly people are there and even picking up a fight with them will not solve the problem.These are just sadistic people and you have to ignore them although it is quite difficult to do so.
City driving is becoming a night mare these days with the blowing of horns, drivers over taking on the wrong side, motor cycles cutting across just in front of your vehicle, autos driving Zig zag,pollution etc.
Your post is very realistic and portrays the prevalent situation in all cities.

Cooperation with absolute strangers is one thing that I have noticed taking place in a traffic mess…strangers seem to become familiar figures in such situations… you have observed it well…
